Overview

Pokalde Peak (5,806m/19,049ft) is one of the fast-climbing hiking peaks that can be combined with Everest base camp trekking. Pokalde Peak was first climbed in April 1953 by the cliff that connects it to Kongma La High Pass, which is 5535 meters above sea level. This cliff extends from Kongma La Pass to a little higher Mera Peak or Kongma Tse. The two routes, Bibre and Dughla, provide a variety of approaches to the peak, including the North Face, North East Face, North West Face, and South Face. Pokalde Peak base camp is located in an elevated valley with a huge lake in the center beneath the Kongma La pass. We then enter the Kongma glacier, approximately 40 minutes from the base camp. Climbing Pokalde Peak leads to a difficult pass over magnificent snow ridges and jagged pinnacles.
