Ghorepani Poonhill Trek

After enjoying your breakfast in the morning, our guide will come to your hotel and accompany you on a sightseeing tour of the Kathmandu Valley. Your first stop will be the Swayambhunath Stupa, situated on top of a hill. This dome-shaped stupa, also known as the Monkey Temple, provides breathtaking views of the beautiful Kathmandu city, surrounded by lush green hills and towering snow-capped mountains.

Once you’ve explored the ancient Swayambhunath, you can proceed to Boudhanath, another impressive stupa often referred to as Little Tibet. Here, you’ll experience a clear representation of Tibetan lifestyle and culture in the area.

Moving towards the eastern part of the Kathmandu valley, you can visit the Pashupatinath Temple. While non-Hindus are not allowed to enter the temple gates, you can still wander around its vast premises and observe the rituals taking place. From across the Bagmati River, you’ll be able to admire the temple’s golden rooftop. Pashupatinath attracts pilgrims from all over the world, especially during Shiva Ratri, a sacred festival honoring the birth of Lord Shiva.

Today, we will travel to Pokhara in a comfortable tourist bus, enjoying the beautiful sights of the Nepalese countryside along the way. We’ll pass through places like Muglin, Gorkha-Manakamana, and Pokhara-Prithvi Narayan Chowk, and see the bus station and lakeside of Pokhara. These areas are filled with different types of plants, lush forests, rivers, and lovely green hills. Alternatively, you can also choose to take a flight to Pokhara.

In the clear morning, you’ll be captivated by the beautiful Snow-White Mountains. As you trek, you’ll be amazed by the breathtaking snowy walls and mountain views until you reach Nayapul after a two-hour drive. From there, your walk begins alongside the Modi Khola/River, where you’ll encounter pine forests, rhododendron flowers, and charming villages belonging to different ethnic groups. The lowland rice fields also add to the picturesque scenery. You’ll spend the night at Tikhedhunga.

Today, we begin our trek after breakfast. We’ll have a long uphill journey from Tikhe Dhunga all the way to Ulleri village. The trail is made of long stone steps and offers you exciting landscapes and views of the Himalayas. The ascent can be a little challenging, but you’ll pass through a lovely rhododendron forest and beautiful villages, where you can explore different types of plants and animals. The best part is enjoying majestic views of mountains like Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, and others along the way.

In the morning, we hike up to Poon Hill to witness the breathtaking sunrise over the snowy mountains of the Himalayas. From there, you’ll also get to see the stunning Himalayan range, including Dolpo, Annapurna, Machhapuchhre, and Dhaulagiri. After spending some time there, we head back to Ghorepani and then continue trekking to Tadapani, which is about 300 meters lower than Ghorepani. While descending to Tadapani, we’ll pass through a dense forest where you can spot monkeys, birds, and other wild animals.

Today, we descend steeply through forests and reach Ghandruk village at noon. We have the afternoon to visit the Annapurna conservation office and museum. We spend the night at Ghandruk.

Today we walk down from Ghandruk village and meet a flat trail along the Modi Khola. Eventually, we make a circuit when we reach Birethanti. We continue walking towards Nayapul. We then drive to Pokhara. Overnight stay at Pokhara.

We fly to Kathmandu in the afternoon. After arriving in Kathmandu, we will be escorted to our hotel. We enjoy the day leisurely or catch up on shopping or explore any landmarks we missed during our first day in Kathmandu. Overnight in Kathmandu.

After a relaxing day in Kathmandu, you’ll have a farewell dinner and celebration. If you wish, you can ask your guide to take you on a sightseeing tour within the Kathmandu Valley. There are various museums to explore, like the Narayanhiti Museum, which used to be the residence of the last king of Nepal. You can also visit the hilltop of Nagarkot for some beautiful views. After sightseeing around the valley’s world heritage sites, you’ll have a farewell dinner with your Nepali friends and guide. If you’re interested, you can even discuss the possibility of extending your stay for activities like Chitwan jungle safari or rafting with your guide.

The time has come to say goodbye. The staff from Gravity Expedition will pick you up from your hotel and accompany you to Tribhuvan International Airport. We part ways with the hope of seeing you again in the future.
