Overview
Dolpo, Nepal’s largest territorial territory, is undeniably lovely and magnificent. The tropical vistas and natural scenery attract people from all across the country, making this a must-see destination. The Shey Phoksundo Lake Trek leads you to the hypnotic deep blue and green waters of Nepal’s largest lake, Phoksundo Lake. Phoksundo is an alpine freshwater lake revered by Buddhist and Bon-Po religious adherents, giving the walk a unique blend of environment and culture. Ringmo, located on the southern bank, provides a unique opportunity to see the native Bonpo culture up close. The monastery of Tshowa, located on the east side of Phoksundo Lake, is another highlight of this walk. Our destination, Phoksundo Lake, is located within Shey Phoksundo National Park. As a result, numerous endangered creatures can be found, including the snow leopard, musk deer, blue horse, big Tibetan horse, and Himalayan tahr. The Phoksundo Lake Trek takes you through lovely woods, lush pine forests, and picturesque historic villages, all while providing spectacular vistas of majestic snow-capped mountains. The rivers and waterfalls along the road are among the most stunning sights in Nepal. Spring and fall are ideal trekking seasons. When time allows, spend a day or two enjoying the beauty, seeing the lake, and exploring the local area.
