Overview
Lower Mustang Trekking is a high-altitude desert journey into and out of the Kali Gandaki River Gorge. The walk follows the southern edge of the Tibetan plateau and passes through terrain similar to it. Our Lower Mustang trek schedule allows you to witness the captivating sunrise from Poon Hill. Watching the glorious golden rays above the snow-covered panorama is a breathtaking sight. Taking a dip in Tatopani’s natural hot water spring can relieve all of your tiredness from your walk throughout the day. As you follow your course, you’ll pass through some amazing settlements including Ghasa, Marpha, Kagbeni, Jomsom, and many more. Marpha’s small lanes are unusual, with flat-roofed and whitewashed buildings.
The community is also well-known for its apples, which are locally cultivated. Similarly, Jomsom is a thriving residential community with numerous eateries, teahouses, and guest houses. Muktinath, the main attraction of the Lower Mustang journey, is a well-known spiritual center that draws thousands of Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims from all over the world each year. In this place, there is a Lord Vishnu temple, followed by a Gompa. Lower Mustang Trek is about more than just the spectacular wild scenery and the world’s deepest gorge; it’s also about the lively villages you pass along the way, sunrise and sunset views in the middle of the mountains, rare cultural experiences, biodiversity, and Muktinath, the renowned Hindu and Buddhist spiritual center.

Itinerary
You will arrive in Kathmandu valley at the Tribhuvan International Airport, and our agents from Gravity Expedition will be there to pick you up. They will take you to your hotel, where you can rest and enjoy a delicious and traditional Nepali meal. In the evening, you have the option to attend a fascinating folk cultural performance.
Following breakfast the following morning, you will go for a full-day sightseeing trip of the Kathmandu Valley. You may see Swyambhunath, a very old temple that is essentially classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the revered Pashupatinath Temple.
Highlights of our guided trip include the largest Buddhist stupa at Boudhanath and the exquisite artwork and old architecture of Kathmandu Durbar Square, which showcase the ancient culture of Nepal.
Patan City’s historic architecture and renowned fine arts will charm you on a visit. You will have time to explore the neighborhood, eat supper, and maybe take a leisurely stroll down the well-known streets when you get back to your hotel. A traditional Nepalese dinner at the Nepali Cultural Restaurant rounds off the day.
We will fly to Pokhara on the third day after leaving Kathmandu. Pokhara is widely known as the “Lake City.” This is Nepal’s most gorgeous city and the most popular tourist destination. Pokhara provides a varied selection of activities. You’ll witness prominent lakes including Phewa Lake and Begnas Lake, as well as a famous cave and a breathtaking waterfall. We’ll spend the night in a wonderful hotel.
Early morning flights to Jomsom, which stands at 2,720 meters (8,894 feet). You will arrive at Mustang’s District Headquarters and begin your hike to Kagbeni, the Upper Mustang’s starting point, where you may enjoy the stunning views of the Nilgiri, Dhaulagiri, Tukuche peak, and Dhampus. Kagbeni is the most fascinating traditional Tibetan village and the greatest site to spend overnight in upper Mustang. Overnight at Kagbeni.
Our adventure begins with an elevation to Jharkot Village. During the walk, we’ll be able to stop and admire some beautiful sights. The path ascends steeply from Kagbeni to 3200 meters, where it rejoins the main trail to Khingar. Until you reach Jarkot Village, the trek climbs through desolate land. Muktinath is reached via a lengthier ascent.
You can visit the Muktinath temple in the morning, which is a major Hindu and Buddhist pilgrimage destination. Natural flaming may be found here, which will excite you. You can have a holy bath with 108 taps. Mount Dhaulagiri (8,167m), Nilgiri (7,061m), and other peaks may be viewed from the Muktinath temple garden. Following breakfast at a motel, retrace your steps back to Marpha village.
Marpha village is known for its apple orchard, so you can enjoy apples when they are in season. Marpha is a sizable village with a Buddhist Monastery in the center that holds special cultural value. Simply hike to the monastery in the morning for a breathtaking view and, if desired, meditation. Otherwise, we will proceed up the Kali Gandaki valley to Jomsom Bazaar. Before reaching Jomsom, you will pass through several ethnic communities, including a minor Gurung, Thakali, and Tibetan population. In the afternoon, there is an eco-museum to explore. In the evening, you celebrate the completion of your journey with the hiking crew.
Taking an early flight to Pokhara takes approximately 25 to 30 minutes. The flights are only available in the early morning. A strong breeze blows throughout and after the voyage, and the weather changes constantly, preventing the flight from landing and taking off in the afternoon. The sky looks to be particularly clear during morning flights, allowing you to enjoy the best view of the Annapurna Himalaya and transfer to your hotel.
Return to Kathmandu by a domestic flight. In the evening, we will enjoy a farewell dinner with cultural performances in a traditional Nepalese restaurant.
Leisure day in Kathmandu, followed by a farewell meal and celebration. You can ask your guide to take you on a sightseeing tour of Kathmandu Valley. On this day, you can visit the valley’s numerous museums, including the Narayanhiti Museum, which was previously the residence of Nepal’s last king. You can also visit the hilltop of Nagarkot. After exploring the valley’s world heritage sites, you will enjoy a farewell supper with your Nepali friends and guide. You and your guide may even decide to extend your stay to include a Chitwan jungle safari, rafting activities, and other activities.
Our representative of Gravity Expedition will accompany you to Tribhuvan International Airport as you prepare to board your flight back home. While you travel home, you can start thinking about your next adventure here in Nepal, and rest assured that Gravity Expedition will be there to provide excellent service for your future endeavors.

Key concerns include altitude sickness, which can be managed by acclimatizing properly, staying hydrated, and ascending gradually. Maintaining personal hygiene and ensuring food and water safety is also crucial to avoid gastrointestinal issues. It is advisable to carry a basic first-aid kit and any personal medications. Always listen to your guide’s instructions and adhere to safety protocols to mitigate risks and ensure a safe trekking experience.
