Overview
The Annapurna range consists of 55 kilometers of peaks, the highest of which is Annapurna I, which stands at 8,091 meters (26,545 feet) and is the world’s tenth highest. Mount Annapurna originates from the Sanskrit words Anna and Purna, which technically mean “full of grain” but are commonly interpreted as Harvest Goddess. Annapurna is a Hindu goddess of fertility and cultivation, as well as a Durga manifestation. Mount Annapurna I (8091 metres) is situated in mid-western Nepal. It is located in a spectacular setting, approximately 34 kilometers west of a huge gorge cut through the Himalayas by the Kali Gandaki river, which separates it from the Dhaulagiri range. On June 3, 1950, a French team led by Maurice Herzog made the first ascent of Annapurna. It took another crew 20 years to conquer the same mountain. In 1970, Chris Bonington and his team scaled Annapurna’s South Face, marking a watershed moment in mountaineering history. The Annapurna I expedition travels from Kathmandu to Beni along the Kali Gandaki River. This location is located in Annapurna Conservation Park (ACAP), Nepal’s largest conservation area. The Annapurnas are known as the most difficult mountains to climb in the world because they are prone to avalanches and all viable routes present significant difficulties as climbers must pass enormous ice cliffs and seracs. As a result, Wongchhu Peak Promotion provides a staff that will assist all expedition members in climbing Mount Annapurna, using their extensive knowledge and comprehensive knowledge of climbing and mountaineering.
