Barauli Community Homestay

Following a hearty breakfast, you will embark on a captivating sightseeing tour of various iconic places in Kathmandu, including Swayambhunath Temple, Pashupatinath Temple, and Bouddhanath Stupa. After an enriching exploration of the historical and cultural sites, return to your hotel to rest. Later in the evening, you will meet with your tour guide and a representative from Gravity Expedition Pvt. Ltd. for a brief session. The day concludes with an authentic Nepali dinner in a cultural restaurant, offering a delightful end to your day.

The journey from Kathmandu offers stunning vistas of the Trishuli River, quaint villages, terraced farms, suspension bridges, and the towering mountains in the distance. Upon reaching Mugling, the route turns southward, gradually descending from the central hills to the lush lowlands of the Western Terai and Chitwan National Park.

Upon arrival in Barauli, you’ll receive a warm welcome from the homestay host, where you can unwind and immerse yourself in the food and culture of the local Tharu community.

Later in the afternoon, embark on a cycling excursion through nearby Tharu villages, providing a unique opportunity to observe the lifestyle of this ethnic group from southern Nepal. Along the way, you’ll pass by vibrant green rice paddies, well-maintained mud homes, and haystacks, eventually reaching the banks of the Narayani River to witness a breathtaking blood-orange sunset – an experience that may offer solitude as you may be the only tourist in the area.

This day is exclusively dedicated to exploring Barauli village through various activities:

1. Jeep Safari: Situated on the edge of Chitwan National Park, Barauli offers thrilling jungle safaris as one of its main highlights. Equipped with our own jeeps and expert naturalists, you can rest assured that you won’t miss any of the fascinating sights during your safari adventure.

2. Cycling: Pedaling through the quaint Tharu villages and fish farms to the banks of the Narayani River promises to be an unforgettable experience. We recommend cycling in the evening when the sunset casts a golden hue over the river, creating a picturesque setting.

3. Cultural Dance: The Tharu people take great pride in their rich culture, which is considered one of the finest in Nepal. Witnessing the famous Tharu stick dance, accompanied by traditional songs, is truly mesmerizing. Typically held in front of our homestay in the evening, this cultural performance offers a delightful way to unwind and enjoy some leisure time after a day of activities. Guests are warmly invited to join in the dance if they wish to do so.

After enjoying an early morning breakfast, the four-wheel journey commences. Along the way, you can savor views of the Trishuli River and hills adorned with typical Nepali villages.
