Overview
Mera Peak Climbing leads us to Nepal’s highest trekking peak, Mera Peak (6,476 meters/21,247 feet). J.O.M Roberts, regarded as one of the world’s finest Himalayan adventurers, climbed the traditional path to the summit of Mera Peak with Sen Tenzing on May 20, 1953. There are numerous paths to the top, each requiring professional expertise. The road from the north is thus good for inexperienced hikers, whilst the ascending to the west and south is ideal for expert climbers. The typical route to Mera Peak is via the 4,610m-high Zwatra La pass. Passing via Zwatra La Pass, with its diverse customs and civilizations, offers breathtaking vistas of old communities.
You will march through the deserted Hongu and Hinku valleys, where Sherpas from the South, near Pangkongma, are frequently seen grazing their cattle during the grass-growing monsoon season. From the summit, you can see five 8,000-meter peaks: Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyu, Makalu, and Kanchenjunga. There are also stunning forests, massive moraines, glacial lakes, and towering peaks such as Charmlang and Baruntse. Mera Peak climbing is excellent for people with some mountaineering expertise. Our Mera peak schedule was meticulously arranged to allow climbers to gradually acclimatize. We choose to climb Mera Peak in the spring and autumn seasons because they provide the best views of the Himalayan landscape.

FAQs
The trek is considered challenging due to its high altitude and variable weather conditions. The ascent to the summit involves walking on glaciers and crossing snowfields, which can be demanding.
Communication options include renting a satellite phone or using communication facilities available in some teahouses. Some trekking agencies also offer communication services for emergencies.
Charging options are generally available at teahouses in lower altitudes. However, electricity is limited at higher altitudes, so it’s advisable to bring extra batteries or a power bank. Be prepared for limited or no charging facilities above base camp.
Daily trekking usually involves 4 to 7 hours of hiking, with distances ranging from 10 to 15 kilometers (6 to 9 miles). The trek includes acclimatization days, and summit day is a long, demanding day starting in the early hours to reach the summit and return.
