As we continue our trek from Dingboche to Lobuche, we will notice that the landscape gradually changes, and the journey becomes more challenging due to the increasing altitude. However, the breathtaking views and the sense of adventure will keep our spirits high.
Our first notable stop on this trail is Dungla (Thukla), a small village situated at the foot of a high hill. To reach the top of this hill, we’ll face a tough and steep ascent. At the hill’s summit, we’ll encounter a cluster of small chortens, which serve as memorial stupas dedicated to the climbers and trekkers who have tragically lost their lives to Everest over the years. This somber reminder of the mountain’s risks and challenges is a poignant moment on our trek.
Continuing onward, we’ll traverse over craggy mountain terrain, taking in the rugged beauty of the surrounding peaks. As we approach Lobuche, a small settlement at an altitude of 4,940 meters, we’ll be rewarded with mesmerizing views of majestic mountains like Mt. Lobuche, Mt. Pumori, and the Nuptse. The sheer grandeur of these peaks against the backdrop of the Himalayan expanse will leave us in awe of nature’s splendor.
As the sun sets, the temperature drops significantly due to our elevated location, and the evenings at Lobuche can be quite cold. So, we’ll make sure to bundle up and keep warm as we settle in for the night. Being at nearly three miles above sea level, the chilly nights remind us of the remote and challenging environment we are now immersed in.
Despite the increasing difficulty of the trek, our determination remains strong, fueled by the captivating scenery and the camaraderie of our fellow trekkers and team members. As we rest in Lobuche, we’ll recharge our energy, knowing that the following days will bring us closer to our ultimate goal of reaching Everest Base Camp. The excitement and anticipation build, making each step on this adventurous journey all the more fulfilling.

Our skilled Climbing Sherpas will assist in fixing ropes to aid our progress to Camp 2, ensuring safety and ease of passage.
Camp 3, situated at an elevation of 6700m, is positioned on a protected flat area below a rock buttress. The path from Camp 2 to Camp 3 is relatively short but the most challenging section of the climb. Here, we encounter a steep, icy snow section of about 6 meters with a gradient of about 75 degrees. Our Climbing Sherpas will set up fixed ropes to navigate this section safely. After conquering this demanding segment, we will reach Camp 3, which offers breathtaking views of the Everest massif and opens up to the vast Tibetan plateau.
Throughout this climbing period, we will be guided and supported by our experienced team of Climbing Sherpas.
