Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Choosing the right expedition guide service is crucial for every climber to ensure a safe and secure mountaineering experience that aligns with their individual needs.
At Gravity Expedition, we emphasize the importance of ensuring that climbers who choose us for this once-in-a-lifetime experience have compatible expectations with the program and style of expedition we run. Our goal is not merely to fill up our expedition slots, but rather to form a cohesive team of like-minded individuals who are determined to reach the summit with the highest level of support and safety standards provided by a guiding service on Mount Everest.
We believe in providing the best standards of food and quality equipment to further enhance each client’s potential for success. Our commitment is to offer the best environment and opportunity for you to achieve your goal of conquering the world’s highest mountain. With Gravity Expedition, you can be confident that we prioritize your safety, well-being, and success throughout the entire journey.
It is mandatory for all trekkers and climbers to acquire sufficient travel insurance, which must include a helicopter emergency evacuation plan. The cost of this insurance is relatively inexpensive compared to the expenses incurred during an emergency evacuation during the expedition. In the absence of proper travel insurance, you will be held financially accountable for all the costs associated with your evacuation and treatment. Such bills can amount to tens of thousands of dollars, making insurance coverage crucial to safeguarding yourself financially in case of any unforeseen emergencies during your trek or climb.
We have a team of skilled and seasoned high altitude expedition cooks who specialize in preparing delicious, nutritious, and healthful meals. Our focus is on providing ample carbohydrates, which serve as an essential energy source and are easier to digest at high altitudes. We make every effort to incorporate fresh vegetables into the meals whenever possible.
Our cooks possess a diverse culinary repertoire, and we encourage expedition members to request their personal favorite dishes to maintain a healthy appetite and ensure sufficient calorie intake. We understand that altitude can significantly impact your desire to eat, and our team is dedicated to catering to your dietary preferences and needs.
Throughout the day, a variety of flavors of tea, coffee, snacks, juice, and hot water will be readily available to keep you refreshed and hydrated 24/7. Our goal is to provide a wide array of food and beverage options to support your well-being during the expedition.
We plan our expeditions to take place in both spring and autumn, strategically aligning with the monsoon change period for the climbing window. This allows us to target a summit bid when the winds typically subside on most 7,000 meter peaks for a few weeks before the monsoon changes direction.
The main distinction between our spring and autumn expeditions lies in the temperature variations. During the spring expedition, temperatures gradually transition from cold to warmer conditions. Conversely, in the autumn expedition, temperatures shift from warmer to colder as the season progresses. Despite the temperature differences, both seasons offer optimal opportunities for summit attempts, ensuring a successful and safe climbing experience.
