Overview
Ramdung Peak, which stands at 5,925m (19,440ft), is located on Nepal’s eastern border, between the Khumbu and Rolwaling valleys. Ramdung Peak, also known as Ramdung Go, is one of a group of peaks around the Yalung La (5,310m), a pass that connects the upper Rolwaling to the south via the Khare Khola. The peaks in the area were first seen in 1952 by a Scottish Himalayan expedition led by Bill Murray, who climbed three of the peaks along the pass: Yalung Ri (5,630m), Chhugyima Go (6,259m), and Ramdung. Since then, other climbs have transformed Ramdung into a superb peak for group hiking and climbing in the less-visited Rolwaling Himal region. Ramdung Peak climbing begins at the base of the Tama Koshi in the subtropical lowlands. Then it ascends to the high altitudes of sherpa communities like Beding and Na. The approach from Na results in two camps for the ascent. Camp 1 is located approximately 4,900 meters below the Yalung La. Camp 2 is located east of the pass on the glacier’s broad slopes. The Ramdung Peak Climbing offers breathtaking vistas of mountains like as Everest (8,848m), Melungtse (7,181m), and Gaurishankar (7,134m), as well as access to Tsho Rolpa’s glacier lake, one of Nepal’s natural wonders. Join this Ramdung Peak trek for breathtaking Himalayan views and calm environment.

Itinerary
You will arrive in Kathmandu valley at the Tribhuvan International Airport, and our agents from Gravity Expedition will be there to pick you up. They will take you to your hotel, where you can rest and enjoy a delicious and traditional Nepali meal. In the evening, you have the option to attend a fascinating folk cultural performance.
Following breakfast the following morning, you will go for a full-day sightseeing trip of the Kathmandu Valley. You may see Swyambhunath, a very old temple that is essentially classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the revered Pashupatinath Temple.
Highlights of our guided trip include the largest Buddhist stupa at Boudhanath and the exquisite artwork and old architecture of Kathmandu Durbar Square, which showcase the ancient culture of Nepal.
Patan City’s historic architecture and renowned fine arts will charm you on a visit. You will have time to explore the neighborhood, eat supper, and maybe take a leisurely stroll down the well-known streets when you get back to your hotel. A traditional Nepalese dinner at the Nepali Cultural Restaurant rounds off the day.
We spend the day drafting final documentation, inspecting gear and equipment, and so forth. If you forget something before heading for the mountain, you can go shopping one last time.
We will leave early in the morning for Gonghar because Nepal’s highways are notorious for gridlock and are frequently in need of repair owing to heavy rains and landslides. Our journey will be dotted with beautiful green hills, forests, swift rivers, and occasional vistas of the Himalayas. The route to Simigaon passes across suspension bridges, dense jungles, and little tea shops. Overnight in Simigaon.
As we go, we will pass through a few Sherpa towns, and if the weather is bright and sunny, we will be treated to a spectacular vista of Gaurishankar (7,134m) towering above the Rolwaling valley. The steep road leads through a wooded ridge, followed by lush pine forests with abundant flora and animals as we descend to the Rolwaling River and Dongang. Overnight in Dongang.
We ascend uphill through Rhododendron trees, maintaining the Rolwaling River to our right, and continue into the region’s deep valleys. With Gaurishankar (7134m) at our side, we will enter a level terrain with terraced farming. Crossing this, we will enter Beding, a magnificent Sherpa settlement located right close to the river. Overnight at Beding.
We stay in Beding today to acclimate. Acclimatization is essential for a successful trek, and its value cannot be overstated. We will take short walks around the region to see Gaurishankar (7134) and the other peaks that are abundant in this area. During the exploration, we may also watch the inhabitants’ way of life up close. Overnight at Beding.
Today’s hike takes us up alongside the river to explore the Yalung Glacier and its surroundings. This open space contains some animals grazing in its fields, as well as other flora and fauna to see. With breathtaking views of the mountains in front of us, we arrive at the Sherpa settlement of Na. It is also one of the earliest known settlements in this part of the country. Overnight in Na.
Walking on snow, we will arrive at the Base Camp in about 5 hours. The trek provides stunning views of the surrounding mountains and makes you excited about the prospect of summiting Ramdung Go Peak. Other expeditions have left a large number of tents here. We can also see the nearby glaciers, including the Yalung, Trakarding, and Ramdung glaciers. Overnight at Base Camp.
We get up early and watch the sunrise as the bright light shines on the beautiful snowcapped mountains. We will trek past Ramding La Pass (5665m), which provides breathtaking views of the surrounding mountain ranges. As we approach the High Camp, we become more excited about the summit the following day. The guides will also inform us on what to do and what not to do during the climb to the peak.
We’ll get up before dawn and head to the summit. We will reach the peak after trekking for around 7 hours on a steep rocky platform. A difficult trek, once we reach the summit, we will be met with an incredibly mind-numbing view that will stop all of our senses. We will be treated to vistas of Everest (8,848m), Gaurishankar (7,134m), Melungtse (7,181m), countless other mountain ranges, and many glaciers. The accomplishment of reaching this mountain will fill us with great joy. After snapping some photos, we’ll begin our descend to Tso Rolpa, a lovely high-altitude glacial lake with a stunning view of the Langtang Himal (7,227m) and Pachermo Himal (6,273m). During the night, we will be able to see brilliant stars in the sky, which is ideal for astrophotography. Overnight at the tented camp.
We will return to Beding along similar roads, enjoying spectacular views of the Rolwaling Himalayan range, Pachermo (6273m), and a peak affectionately known as Tilicho’s brother. With visions of Tso Rolpa still fresh in our minds, we will travel to Beding and rest our sore legs. Overnight at Beding.
When we wake up in the morning, we can begin to recall our events from the previous days. We bid farewell to the trail we previously ascended and head to Daldung La via a different route than Thangthing Kharka. We’ll stroll through trails with lots of vegetation and deep plants. There are numerous rhododendron trees lining the path, and many different birds and animals can be observed prospering in their habitat. Overnight in Daldung La.
We will descend from Daldung to Manthali, losing significant altitude along the route. It is the headquarters of the Ramechhap district, located in a picturesque valley carved by the Tamakoshi River, and it is a larger town than the ones we passed through on our walk. This also signals the conclusion of our walk through the stunning Rolwaling region. Overnight in Manthali.
Today’s travel is long and could get worse due to traffic. With stunning views of the hills, jungles, occasional mountains, and rivers, we will make our way to Kathmandu and check into our hotel. Following that, we’ll take some much-needed rest for the day. Later in the day, you can take a stroll around the region. Overnight at the hotel.
Leisure day in Kathmandu, followed by a farewell meal and celebration. You can ask your guide to take you on a sightseeing tour of Kathmandu Valley. On this day, you can visit the valley’s numerous museums, including the Narayanhiti Museum, which was previously the residence of Nepal’s last king. You can also visit the hilltop of Nagarkot. After exploring the valley’s world heritage sites, you will enjoy a farewell supper with your Nepali friends and guide. You and your guide may even decide to extend your stay to include a Chitwan jungle safari, rafting activities, and other activities.
Our representative of Gravity Expedition will accompany you to Tribhuvan International Airport as you prepare to board your flight back home. While you travel home, you can start thinking about your next adventure here in Nepal, and rest assured that Gravity Expedition will be there to provide excellent service for your future endeavors.
